Speech Sounds

The English alphabet has 26 letters that are used in various combinations to represent between 42 to 44 different speech sounds! Children’s recognition and use of these speech sounds are important for early word learning and successful non-verbal and verbal communication with others.

Sorting Games: Sorting activities encourage speech-language learning skills. These activities help with language learning skills as they mimic the way that our brains naturally learn and store new vocabulary.

Flash Cards: Flashcard decks in our learning library include specific words for each of the following speech sounds. Each time your child pronounces the given word correctly they can move to the next flashcard in the deck. A child’s speech sound production might improve a lot by saying these words out loud.
